Our Philosophy
At Epping North OSHCP we pride ourselves on providing an integral service to the North Epping Community. We welcome all students and their families, striving to create a positive and respectful environment for those at our centre. We celebrate our cultural diversity and the value it brings to our centre and community.
ENOSHCP is dedicated to teaching key social skills through a play-based curriculum that responds to all children’s needs and interests. We encourage our Educators to share their unique personal skills and interests with the centre to engage with and guide the children’s development. The children are free to explore the environment and engage in activities that they find meaningful to them in order to develop a sense of autonomy and ownership as well as promote confidence in themselves and their abilities.
We are strong advocates for the rights and safety of our children and aim to provide an enriching environment which fosters curiosity and diverse playing experiences. We pride ourselves on being a team of professional educators that act as positive role models to nurture the children into becoming valued members of our community.
As educators, our focus is on inclusivity, ensuring all children’s needs are met while supporting them in creating a program that aligns with the My Time Our Place learning framework. We aim to build genuine and collaborative relationships with the children and their families to ensure all voices are heard and contribute to the centre in meaningful ways.
Our Story
Since the 1980s Epping North Out of School Hours Care has been managed by Epping North families, for Epping North families. Started by a group of Epping North parents, we’ve grown as a centre to where we are today - licensed for over 100 places and supporting a substantial professional team.
We’re an incorporated association, making us volunteer-run and not-for-profit. Our dedicated parents on our management committee support our paid staff team to deliver a high quality experience outside of school hours that puts children’s voices first. We’re as unique and special as the Epping North kids who come to our centre.
For decades Epping North parents have kept this centre independent, locally run and focused solely on delivering the best possible outcomes for children and families. We love our community, and we’d do anything for it. Epping North is a proud school built on respect, resilience and responsibility, and our OSHC centre embraces those values.
